China Hydrogen Alliance
An overview of the Alliance
To enhance the development of China’s hydrogen sector in speed and quality, the China Hydrogen Alliance was jointly launched in February 2018 by China Energy and other 17 sponsors ranging from large companies in such sectors as energy production, equipment manufacturing, transportation and metallurgical materials to prestigious universities and research institutes.

The alliance is supported and supervised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the National Energy Administration, the National Development Bank, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science, and the Technology and Standardization Administration.

The Alliance is devoted to building a high-level national communication and collaboration platform that enables coordinated innovation, resource pooling, commercialization and promotion across different disciplines, sectors and departments.
Main Responsibilities of China Hydrogen Energy Alliance
To study the hydrogen development model in China and publish industrial white paper, to provide policy advice and expertise to support the national development strategy and implementation plan.
To coordinate joint efforts of all alliance members and stakeholders to build national joint laboratory with a view to promoting R&D on key technologies.
To press for the buildout of national and local “hydrogen and fuel cell demonstration zone”, to call for the formulation of standards of domestic hydrogen and fuel cell industry.
To facilitate complementarities and the sharing of resources among members, to support investment, and promotion of innovative demonstration projects launched by members.
To raise public awareness of hydrogen energy via effective promotion, to foster a favorable social environment for the development of hydrogen society in China.
Organizational leadership
Organization of the Alliance is as followed:                                                                      1. the Counselors of the Alliance;                                                                                    2. the Council, the Strategic Guidance Committee;                                                        3. the Expert Committee and the Secretariat.                                                                                                                                                                                                  The Strategic Guidance Committee is responsible for providing consultations and guidance for the work thought and key work of the Alliance.                                                                                                                                                                              The Alliance Member Committee serves as the supreme authority of the Alliance.                                                                                                                                                The Expert Committee is the technical support organization of the Alliance.                                                                                                                                                    The Secretariat serves as the standing executive organization of the Alliance.                                                                                                                                                     The Innovation Center is regarded as a platform undertaking national key and special projects as well as local science and technology projects.
